Baptist Ministries of Togo receives funding from direct donations and by holding several fundraisers each year. Teams of volunteers, dedicated to our purpose in Togo, ensure the success of each fundraising event. You can help by donating items to sell or raffle, attending the event, and by volunteering your time. Please feel free to email us with any questions regarding these events.
Events will be added to the list as the year progresses, so please check back again. If you would like to be notified of upcoming events, please email us and ask to be added to our newsletter list. Our newsletters are sent out approximately once a month.

Start Saving Donations Now!
Donations: It's no secret that we're all getting older. So, this year, we are going to set up some donation guidelines. We need to reduce the number of items to be sorted and priced and also we'd like to prevent having lots of leftover items to dispose of. For example, we won't be accepting any clothing this year or any upholstered furniture. As soon as our guideline list is complete, we'll post it here.
Volunteer: We'll need help with sorting and pricing, posting signs around the neighborhood, setup and tear down, helping customers, and working the cash box. Please think about where you might be able to help.
Date: September (Date TBD)
Time: 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM
Location: 2234 Sunrise Blvd, Rancho Cordova
We're teaming up with Rancho Cordova's Round Table Pizza! Round Table will donate a percentage of sales made from persons presenting one of our flyers with their order. Flyers will be emailed to everyone on our email list. Please contact Loy Baxter for a printed copy.

We Need Your Help!
Volunteer: Volunteering to help with this event is nearly as fun as attending it. There will be plenty of tasks for people of all abilities. Volunteers will be needed to help sort gifts and arrange gift tables, decorate guest tables, sell raffle tickets, and then clean up after the event. Please contact Loy Baxter to sign up to help with the event.
Gift Items: This year we will be setting some new guidelines for raffle donations. We'll post the guidelines as soon as they are finalized.
Silent Auction Items: In addition to the gift raffle, we will be having two separate "silent auctions". One will be a bake sale where you can donate a homemade Christmas treat. The other will be a gift card silent auction. The gift cards can be a standalone donation or part of a themed basket. For example, you can make a basket containing a coffeeshop gift card and coffee-related items. Please contact Terri Patterson to sign up to participate. Terri will also have a supply of empty gift baskets availble for your use.
Attend: We encourage families to bring their children and grandchildren. They have so much fun choosing prizes to try for and it is a joy to watch their reactions when they win. Also, if you are able, bring a dessert item to share.
The 18th annual Capital Airshow featured both the US Air Force Thunderbirds and Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force’s military jet demonstration team! Even though this year's show was in the evening, our team had an ideal location and sold plenty of ice cream, soda, and water. We earned $828.67 and also some tips! Thank you Dave Cheek, Danita Cook, Barbara Stocking, Barbara Butler, Geoff Baxter, and Loy Baxter.
What a successful fundraiser! From the sale of raffle tickets and the silent auction, we raised $1789. In addition to this, several of our friends also gave generous donations totaling $1600. Combined, these funds will enable the pastors to help to the members of their congregation in dire need, purchase supplies for ongoing construction projects, enhance their upcoming evangelistic campaigns, and so much more.
There are many tasks associated with putting on an event such as this and some are just plain hard work. We owe a huge "THANK YOU” to the many people who donated items and/or helped with planning, set up, and facilitating the event. We also appreciate those who took time out of their busy holiday season to spend the evening with us. What a joy it was to participate in this with all of you.
To say that we received a mountain of wonderful donations for our spring yard sale is almost an understatement. Without the help of so many volunteers to sort and price and display the treasures, we couldn't have pulled it off. A heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers. Also, thank you to Bill and Terri Patterson for hosting the sale. Including donations from some friends, we earned a whopping $3970. These earnings will be a great help to the Pastors in Togo as they work to spread the Gospel.
Perhaps one of the most memorable things about the 2022 party was the weather. It rained for days before and for days after the event but, God blessed us with a brief dry spell. Sincere thanks to our volunteers and loyal supporters who came out and helped to make the 2022 Christmas raffle one of our most successful fundraisers ever. We earned $1652 in ticket sales, and received $2110 in other donations, including $250 from our first-ever bake sale. As always, these funds will be used for gospel outreach and related projects in Togo.
Despite the heat and smoke on Friday, our September yard sale was a huge success. We earned $1413! Yard sales generate a surprising amount of work and so we sincerely thank all those who helped by donating items and/or their time. Special thanks to Kent and Carolyn Sutter who hosted the sale. The funds that were raised will go a long way in Togo to help the Pastors stay in the ministry, to spread the Gospel and to build church buildings, which give the believers a place to meet and to invite people.
Thanks to the help and generosity of many people, the Christmas raffle was fantastic success! We raised $1125 from raffle ticket sales and then an additional $1790 in donations were received from some of our generous friends. These funds will be used for gospel outreach and other projects in Togo, such as the medical ministry to the elderly folks in the three villages of Piladjoua, Gningbanda and Soumdina.
The 2021 Capital Airshow, which featured both the USAF Thunderbirds and the Canadian Snowbirds, produced a good crowd! Our team sold soda and ice cream this year (more demanding physically than a souvenir booth) but two days of hard work payed off and $796.92 was raised. Thank you Kent and Carolyn Sutter, Carole Bender and her friend Candace, David Cheek, and Loy Baxter.
Our yard sales have always been a great way to raise funds and our spring yard sale was no exception. We were able to raise $1,630 and also received a generous donation from a friend. The funds will be used wisely by the Pastors in their ministries and for special projects, such as saving money for the construction of a church in Gningbanda, our Malaria programs, and to help with the truck that Pastor Koffi is buying. Our sincere thanks to Kent and Carolyn Sutter, who held the sale at their home, to all who donated items, and to the many volunteers who donated their time.
In spite of having to make adjustments for Covid-19, our Christmas raffle turned out to be both fun and successful. The Lord blessed us with earnings of $1,175! Part of these funds will go to each of the 5 pastors for family and personal needs, part to the church building project in Piladjoua, and the remainder to evangelism for the elderly, evangelism in general, and other special projects.
Thanks to all who donated such wonderful gifts, to all who helped with event preparations, and especially to Carole Bender who organized all of the donated items.
Our first fundraiser in 2020, the October yard sale was a good success. We earned a total of $1000.20, which will go a long way in meeting some of the needs of the churches in Togo. Since we had many items stored from the cancelled spring sale, we didn’t need to collect new items. Even so, sorting and pricing the items and setting up and taking down the yard sale took a lot of work and we sincerely thank all of you who helped. Also, we extend a special thank you to Carole and Gerry Bender for hosting the event and for all the work they did to make it a great time.
Our Christmas Raffle Fundraiser was held at Sun River Church this year, and was a really fun time of fellowship, food and winning prizes. We had many wonderful gift items in the raffle, and we earned $1270. This will be used to continue with the construction of the church in Piladjoua, repair the church building in Gningbanda, and support projects like the Malaria medication program in two villages. Thank you to all who helped and who donated items.
In spite of the hot weather, the August yard sale was a huge success. An enormous quantity of items were donated and so we were able to earn an enormous amount of money - over $2,000! We are excited to see how God will use these funds. Our sincere thanks to all who donated items and especially to the many volunteers who helped. Your hard work is acknowledged and very much appreciated.
This year the Raffle was held at the home of Ed and Priscilla McDaniel. We had more people attending than usual and had a very festive and fun time of fellowship and prizes. Thanks to the donations of our friends, we had many great gift items to raffle. We earned $1179.00 which we will use to help start the new church building in the village of Piladjoua. Thank you to all who helped and who donated items.
Our fall yard sale was held at the home of Terri and Bill Patterson. God blessed us with an abundance of donations and, just as important, many customers. Between sales and a few outright donations, we earned just over $2,000! These funds will be distributed amongst several projects we are currently supporting, including the Piladuja church construction and starting two additional malaria programs. Our sincere thanks to all who donated items, time, or both.
This year we were "upgraded" from selling ice cream and drinks to selling souvenirs. There were t-shirts, caps, toys, mugs, and all sorts of other airshow goodies. We earned $757.40! These funds will be used to begin the construction of a new church in Piladjua. Thank you Loy, Terri, Barry, Linda, Barb, Dave, and Carol for braving the crowds and the heat.
Our spring event was held at the Patterson's home and was held in conjunction with the Sun River neighborhood yard sale, which helped to attract many people. Even though we were only open for business one day, we earned $1136. In addition, we received $400 in special gifts. This money was used for benches for the new Soumdina Church building and some was given to the pastors during Loy's 2018 trip to Togo. Our sincere thanks to everyone who donated items and who helped at the event.
